5 Years Dialysis Free, An Unexpected Gift.

                                            July 24th, 2019 - July 24th, 2024

Five years ago, my life changed in ways that words can hardly express. I was given the precious gift of a kidney from an incredible donor, which has transformed my existence. Before the transplant, my days were filled with uncertainty and physical limitations. The constant fatigue and frequent trips to the hospital for dialysis made it challenging to live an everyday life. However, a new chapter began when I received that kidney, marked by renewed energy and boundless hope.

Several Bible verses encourage us to thank the Lord for His gifts. Giving thanks acknowledges the blessings I received and fosters a deeper spiritual connection and humility.

One of the most well-known verses underscoring gratitude's importance is 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." This verse reminds us to maintain a heart of thankfulness in times of abundance and through life's trials, recognizing that every moment is part of God's grand design for our lives.

I sincerely thank my donor, Laurie C. Poll, and her family. Your selfless act of kindness and generosity has given me a kidney and a second chance at life. Because of you, I wake up each morning with a heart full of gratitude, able to enjoy the simple pleasures that many might take for granted. I can now spend quality time with my loved ones, pursue my passions, and contribute meaningfully to my community. Your gift has allowed me to dream again and live a life not restrained by the boundaries of illness.

Every day, I honor your memory by living fully and gratefully. I promise to take care of this precious gift and spread the same kindness and hope you gave me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your life-saving generosity. Your legacy lives on through me, and I am forever indebted to you for this incredible gift.

To those bravely facing the challenges of kidney disease, please know that your courage and resilience are remarkable. Each day, you navigate through the complexities of your condition with strength and determination, which is truly inspiring. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. A vast network of healthcare professionals, support groups, family, and friends are here to stand by you and offer their support and care.

I will continuously be grateful to God for everything and anything. Psalm 107:1 says: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." This verse celebrates the enduring and unchanging nature of God's love and goodness. By expressing gratitude, I honor the constancy and faithfulness of the Lord, acknowledging that His gifts, tangible blessings, or spiritual peace are a testament to His unwavering love for us.
